The evening was especially poignant for Ernie Haase. “I've got a picture on my wall of an 18 year old George Younce attending the Stamps Baxter School of Music. To be here 50 years later is very special to us. As I looked out on the audience of students, I wondered to myself who the next George Younce will be. We loved being with Ben Speer and everyone at Stamps Baxter School of Music. Ben Speer has done an amazing job carrying on the legacy and excellence at the school." |

Santa Ronnie McDowell gifts portrait to "the Possum" George Jones on Christmas Day! Country music legend George Jones received a special visitor on Christmas Day when fellow recording artist Ronnie McDowell showed up at his home in Franklin, Tenn., bearing the gift of a portrait – commissioned by Jones’ wife, Nancy – depicting his celebrated DUI arrest while operating a riding lawn mower. “I’m your biggest fan,” said McDowell, “I want to present this new painting to you: As a matter of fact, it’s my favorite painting I’ve ever done.” McDowell’s portrait of Elvis Presley is featured in the book “The Genuine Elvis” and he is also known for hit songs such as “The King Is Gone.” “I Love You, I Love You, I Love You,” and “Older Women. |
